Recently I went to the Japan Society’s Cosplay 2.0 event. There was a contest with gift certificates to Kinokuniya as prizes. Before the contest though, there was some time to talk pictures with various cosplayers though. These are some of my favorite shots from that day. For other shots that I took, they are uploaded on my Flickr.

This was a candid shot that I took, I really liked how Haruhi was sitting. Quite pretty and sexy right?

She is one of the members from Team USA, and at times, I like taking pictures from an angle, so this should be a nice pose.

I should be working on uploading my Japanese trip’s photos as well as finish my drafts for my trip, but definitely working on it. I was able to pre-order this figure last year when I heard it was coming out from Bandai in Japan. I had it sent to Rai’s home, and so when I saw her this time, I picked it up, and transported it back to the U.S. While this is not officially loot I acquire on my trip, it was something I felt that I obtained, that I saved money in postage and mailing fees for Rai, so that was a satisfaction.

Bonta-kun is a character that appeared primarily in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu So with my acquiring the anime figure, my dream for acquiring a plushie has gone down slightly. I am still hoping, but with how fast products come and go in Japan. Pretty hopeless. (>_<)

I uploaded the rest of the informal photo shoot up on Flickr, but under the cut are images that I found that was pleasing to my eye, and definitely something I found pleasure in as I experimented with a couple of poses.

One thing to note, this figure does not come with a base, there was an advertisement insert that advertises the ability to purchase a base for Bonta-kun though. Also since this was a figure that was made in China, I had some difficulties and fear of the arms having some joint problems in the future.

Before I forget and the news grow old, I figure that I would need to blog about my experiences with what I first heard AnimeVice reporting about. Eroge figures on display. One of the lucky things about New York Cities, is the galleries that dot the city. Free admission to see displayed art. I have been going to galleries for a bit now, from, and this is definitely something that would make an adult figure fan collector say wow…anime figures going fine arts in America. So the gallery is Gallery Nine 5 near Spring Street.

I went on Friday, a couple of weeks before Utada concert, and I never got the chance to go back. The display didn’t take up the entire store, half of it – but with a timed interest. This display was up to February 12 and that’s it. I found figures I might have recognized, and some others are of a submissive/dominant variety which I find myself saying wow..

All the figures depict woman in states of undress or BDSM inspired, or sexual poses. Some figures are from Queen’s Blade, Bakuretsu Hunters, Ah My Goddess, Bible Black, Gundam Seed Destiny.. plenty of these figures were definitely taken in states of undress, with added adult themed contents props, like Playboy mini-books or bar ornaments.

Since it is more polite to ask if there was a photo shoot policy, the guy said only one picture, so of course I grabbed Kero’s and my camera and snapped two pictures of what I found were neat.

animemiz: Went to Gallery Nine 5, saw figures, was able to take two pics. I like my own figures more, but seeing 3xMizuho-sensei and 2xUrd was sweet.

Because of the fact that Sunday the 14th was the Lunar New Year, and Valentine Day, decided to postpone this until Monday to be uploaded. But yes, this was an experience.

Okay as I am pretty much done with my draft for con report. Right now I am getting down to sorting through images, now if these were family images it would be pretty self-explanatory, but as these are all digital photos. There is apparently a protocol one must go through, such as fixing the lighting or adding in your own name to show ownership etc. etc. etc. I don’t even what to think what Eric must be going through. He would be calling my camera entry level, but it is still something that I must navigate with.

I threw up pictures from last Thursday’s Pre Party up on Flickr, and just to emphasize the point, might as well throw it on a slide show as well. From that post, I took down those images.

Getting through the pictures have not been easy, and I pretty much in awe of my photographer friends. I don’t think of myself as a pro, but I really love to look through photographs sometimes. For me to take pictures, that is something I need to master eventually.
